Information on 2015-2017 Strategic Learning for Regional Delegates

Regional Delegates provide input to the council’s Board of Directors on Strategic Priorities.  The Board is developing our next three year strategic plan (2015-2017) and has asked Regional Delegates to lead discussions in their Regions during February 2014-April 2014, so that they are prepared to provide informed input about the 2015-2017 strategic plan at the council’s April 26, 2014 Annual Meeting.  Click here for an overview and discussion guide. All members are welcome to review this guide and discuss questions or concerns with their Regional Delegate, or send input to

Regional Delegates

Regional Delegates are elected from all 14 regions of  Girl Scouts of Northern California.  Delegates are girl and adult members, age 14 and over.

Nominations are accepted in the Fall, and elections are held in January.  Check here in October for a timeline and nomination documents.

See below on this page for a list of current delegates for your region.

Each region is entitled to elect:

  • Two girl members (ages 14 and older) to serve a one year term as a Regional Delegate.
  • Six Regional Delegates, one of whom must be an adult member age 18 or older and the remaining five Regional Delegates may be girl (age 14 or older) or adult members.  These two year terms are staggered, so in any given year there are three positions up for election in each Region.
  • Remaining nominees may be elected to serve as Alternate Regional Delegates.

Regional Delegates govern our council.  Together with the members of the Board and members of the Council’s Board Development Committee, and the delegates to the National Council (national delegates), regional delegates are the “voting members” of our council.  Voting members attend the Annual Meeting for Girl Scouts of Northern California where they elect the Board of Directors, Board Development Committee, and the national delegates and alternates to the National Council of GSUSA, and they vote on any amendments to our bylaws (the rules that govern our council).
