Girl Scout Leadership Experience

Discover, Connect, Take Action

Rooted in research and over 100 years of performance, The Girl Scout Leadership Experience (GSLE) is proven to help girls build courage, confidence, and character to make the world a better place.

The National Program Portfolio empowers girls to Discover, Connect, and Take Action using the 3 Girl Scout processes of  Girl Led, Learning by Doing, and Cooperative Learning. The Portfolio puts the processes to work through two tools that provide girls a distinct and unique experience: Journeys and the Girl's Guide to Girl Scouting

Journeys  offers leaders a multi-meeting platform that helps to ensure that girls are using the 3 processes to acquire knowledge, skills and leadership for a 21st century life. The Girl's Guide contains the badges which allows girls to try new things and build practical life skills while maintaining Girl Scout tradition. Journeys introduce how girls from 5-17 can take action in their community. These skills are not only relevant to leadership but also in completing the coveted Girl Scout Awards:  Bronze, Silver and Gold!

Research has shown that girls who use these tools have a high quality GSLE, and will benefit from the 15 intermediate outcomes that lead to becoming a confident leader of tomorrow.
