"She gained a better sense of self and confidence and singing her little heart out."
- Camp Metro parent, 2010

Camp Metro operates Monday-Friday, June - August. Full-day programs run 8:30am -5:00pm. An optional morning and evening program is also available. Contact the Girl Scout Council for information on this option.
Every camper at Camp Metro registers for a special unit program that sets the focus for many of the session activities. At camp, girls are placed in unit groups based on age and the special program in which they have registered. Most units range in size from 8-16 girls. Units spend most of their time at camp together participating in activities based on either their unit focus or the Camp Metro international themes.
Campers at Metro do bring their own sack lunch each day. Drinking water is always available, and basic snacks are provided in the afternoon.
Although each group of campers has a slightly different schedule, a typical day at camp might look like this:
| 7:30 a.m. | Morning Metro program (requires sign up on registration form and additional fee) |
| 8:30 a.m. | Flexible program while campers in main program arrive |
| 9:00 a.m. | Activities related to the individual unit programs or global session themes |
| Noon | Lunch and quiet time |
| 1:00 p.m. | Continued unit activities and/or special all-camp events. |
| 4:15 p.m. | Closing circle |
| 4:30 p.m. | Flexible program while campers in main program depart |
| 5:00 p.m. | Camp Metro main program ends |
| 5:00 p.m. | Evening Metro program (requires sign up on registration form and additional fee) |
| 6:00 p.m. | Evening Metro program ends |
Girls not only have the opportunity to participate in the activities for their specific specialized program, but there is a wide range of all-camp activities that are available to all girls at camp.
Each week at Camp Metro starts out with the traditional Opening Circle on Monday mornings. This is the time for all campers to come together, meet the staff and hear about the fun things planned for the week.
Throughout the session, there are theme days and special activities for all camper groups to enjoy. Thursday afternoons include a special guest presenter. Every week is something entertaining and different. From South American music and dance to African porcupines, campers will delight in the fun of these weekly visits.
A session at Camp Metro would not be complete without a visit or two to the Art center where girls receive instruction in a wide range of fine and studio arts. All girls have the opportunity to visit the Art Specialist where they will work on activities that are appropriate for their age.
Friday afternoon is the ending talent show, where all camper groups can choose to perform for parents and fellow campers.
Finally, every day at Camp Metro ends with the closing daily circle where campers gather to sing songs, share memories of the day and look ahead to the next day's adventures.
During the week, units will come together at special times to participate in all-camp events. At the end of each day, the campers gather at circle to sing songs, share stories and memories of the day and look ahead to the next day's adventures. Each week, a special guest visitor will give an entertaining and educational presentation. From and South American music to African porcupines and exotic rainforest animals, campers will delight in the fun of these weekly special visits.
Pre and post camp programs are available for an additional fee of $20/week/program. Morning Metro is offered from 7:30 AM to 8:30 AM and Evening Metro is offered from 5:00 PM to 6:00 PM.
