Girl Scout Cookie Sale 2009
Information for the General Public

...we could change the world. This Cookie Season, girls will combine the power of their imaginations with the power of Girl Scout Cookies to lead change in their communities. Girl Scouts everywhere will be asking, "What if...?"
What if we could make the planet healthier?
What if we could make people happier?
What if...we could change the world?
The Girl Scout Cookie program is much more than a fundraiser. It's a way for girls to earn money to realize their dreams, and it's a hands-on leadership and financial literacy program that begins with imagination. At the beginning of the sale girls will ask themselves, “What can we do for fun and learning with our cookie proceeds?” and “What can we do with our Cookie Sale money to help others?”

Product Price: $4.00 per box
The price of Girl Scout cookies in Northern California has remained constant at $3.50 for the last five to eight years (depending on the legacy council), but our expenses have risen. Our members have seen an increase in the price of basic necessities that make Girl Scouting possible. In order to continue to provide vibrant programs for our girls we must raise the price of cookies from $3.50 to $4.00 per box for our 2009 cookie sale. Thank you for supporting the Girl Scouts of Northern California and the more than 55,000 Girl Scouts and 32,000 adult volunteers we serve.
Making It Count Where does my Cookie Money Go?
All of the proceeds—every penny—from Girl Scouts of Northern California’s annual cookie activities remain in the council to serve girls and volunteers from our diverse communities through:
- Events, projects, and programs in our four core program areas, Green By Nature, Girls Go Tech, Growing Strong, and Business Smarts
- Recruitment and training of volunteer leaders,
- Financial assistance to make Girl Scouting available to all girls,
- Improvements and maintenance of camps and other activity sites.
How the Cookie Crumbles
