Day/Resident Camp Director

Thank You for Volunteering to be a Volunteer-Run Day or Resident Camp Director!

Volunteer-run camps include both day and resident camp experiences allowing girls to extend their Girl Scout Leadership Experience into the summer months, as well as open a pathway that welcomes new girls into Girl Scouting.  Camp provides an amazing opportunity for girls and adults to make new friends, learn new skills, and challenge themselves in a safe, supportive environment, and support the Girl Scout mission to build girls of courage, confidence, and character who make the world a better place.

What Does A Day/Resident Camp Director Do?

As a camp director, you will lead a team of volunteers who will support the planning and operation of camp.  You will serve as the primary contact person for the camp and have the opportunity to be a valuable part of a community of volunteer camp professionals providing a high-quality outdoor program experience.

Who can be a Day/Resident Camp Director?

Any registered and screened adult 25 or older, female or male, who has completed the required courses (listed to the right). Many times, day/resident camp directors are volunteers who have served the council in other roles such as leaders, service team members, troop camping certified adults, first aiders, or troop helpers.
