Step 1:

Complete the Volunteer Application.

While you are completing the application you will be asked if you would like to complete fingerprinting (lasts forever) or electronice background check. Must be completed every 3 years.

Step2:

 Fingerprinting

OR

Electronic Background Check

Fingerprinting: This option lasts forever. You will need to download the livescan form and take it to an approved fingerprinting location near you. Click fingerprinting Information to find out more about this process.

Electronic Background Check: This option lasts 3 years. You will need to repeat the process every three years. Select Electronic Background Check to get started.

Fingerprinting

As part of the adult screening process, volunteers may complete either fingerprinting or an electronic background check. This page describes how to complete this second step in the volunteer screening process.

If you have not already done so, you must complete the online volunteer application:

Step 1: Start the volunteer screening process with the volunteer application.

Step 2: Electronic background check (lasts for 3 years) OR fingerprinting (lasts forever).

Step 3: Wait for approval e-mail before volunteering. (If you have not received notification within 10 business days, please contact our screening administrator at adultscreening@girlscoutsnorcal.org.)

Fingerprinting

Please be aware that we cannot accept previous fingerprint clearances from other agencies (in accordance with California law). You must be fingerprinted specifically for Girl Scouts.

Fingerprinting at Outside Agencies

You may schedule an appointment with any local Live Scan agency for fingerprinting (see list of suggested agencies in the area below).  Note that Live Scan is a specific type of fingerprinting and is different than obtaining a "fingerprint card."

To Use Any Live Scan Agency:
  1. Download and fill out a copy of our Live Scan application
  2. Choose any Live Scan agency and make an appointment
  3. Bring your Live Scan application to your fingerprinting appointment
  4. Get fingerprinted and pay the fingerprinting fee ranging from $0 to $60 depending on the agency. (GSNorCal does not provide reimbursement for these charges.)
