The Girl Scouts of Northern California recently honored Marissa Mayer Google Vice-President for her contributions in her field and for serving as a role model for girls and women.
Mayer is vice president of search products and user experience and was Google’s first female engineer. She received the Juliete Gordon Low Award in memory of the inspirational woman who founded Girl Scouts 96 years ago.
The award was presented at the sixth Beyond Cookies and Camping dinner and live auction on October 16th at Villa Ragusa. Mayer was the keynote speaker. Girl Scouts’ Girls Go Tech initiative was highlighted during the evening’s festivities including Girl Scouts’award winning robotics team, Space Cookies, with their robot.
