Older Girls will use scientific equipment to take samples of the mud and search for all kinds of animals. Learn how these animals find food and escape predators to survive in this dark and squishy place. You will also observe other animals (fish, sharks!) that are at home in and on the mud. |

The Girl Scout Amazing Race is based on the CBS TV...The Girl Scout Amazing Race is based on the CBS TV show; we follow the show's format including Detours, Road Blocks, Yields, Fast Forwards and the dreaded Eliminations at the Pit Stops. The race will include a full weekend of physical and mental challenges. Each team will consist of 1 adult and 3-4 girls. Although we encourage girls to be in charge of the navigation and decision-making, adults will also participate in some challenges. No GPS may be used for this event. Fee includes all entrance and activity fees, lodging (a place for your pads and sleeping bags on a floor) and some of your meals. Teams will have to spend additional funds on gas and some meals. Teams will travel 300-400 miles during this weekend event. Teams will be eliminated starting on Saturday afternoon. It is definitely to your advantage to watch the show in advance!
You must be at the starting point by 6:00 p.m. to start racing. Late teams will be eliminated immediately. All participating teams will be invited to the finish line of the final race. |

We'll meet at the Larkspur Ferry and ride it over ...We'll meet at the Larkspur Ferry and ride it over to San Francisco. You'll be armed with a map of the city, your own lunch (or your money to buy it) and, most importantly, clues to the awesome wonders of the city. You'll spend the day searching out those clues on foot or, if you prefer, public transportation. Some clues will be easy-peasy and some will challenge even the best of sleuths! After we arrive back at Larkspur, we'll take a 20 minute drive to Camp Bothin, where pizza and prizes await you. One adult must register with one girl - two adults must register with two or more girls. You will travel with your troop. Individual girls will be grouped with others. Fees include: ferry ride, pizza and prizes. |

A Girl Scout adult fulfilling the role of a Level 1 First Aider for a troop and/or event must complete both a CPR and a First Aid course. Please refer to the Safety Activity Checkpoints www.GirlScoutsNorCal.org/safety for activities that require the presence of a “Girl Scout First Aider” (generally not needed for regular meetings, but required for many trips/outings) Also see requirements for event first aiders on page 66 of the Council Resource Guide: Volunteer Essentials (www.GirlScoutsNorCal.org/crg).
Some offerings split this training between 2 sessions; you must attend both sessions to be certified. Please wear comfortable clothing and be prepared to spend some time sitting or lying on the floor. For a full day course it is suggested that you bring a beverage and a lunch or snack.

Activities will include the Trees of Mystery Trail Exploration scavenger hunt, a ride through the redwood tree canopy suspended on the Sky Trail Gondola and completion of the Trees of Mystery patch program. To outlast the other teams you’ll need to get the most points by competing in the mental and physical Immunity Challenges. Surviving the night outside or in a shelter will earn you more points. Teams consist of 6-12 girls, troops will be combined as needed. 2 Adults must accompany each troop. Adults do not participate in challenges, but are needed to help run our planned challenges and work in the kitchen. Adults will sleep in Adirondacks (3-sided lean-to) and are not part of the girl team. Adults will not be sleeping in an area with their own team. Come and take the challenge! |

Learn how these animals find food and escape predators to survive in this dark and squishy place. You will also observe other animals (fish, sharks!) that are at home in and on the mud. |

From 10 am on Friday to 8 pm on Saturday, the park is open to Girl Scouts and their families. (Limited rides will be in operation.) A private all-you-can eat Girl Scout picnic brings everyone together, and a fun troop Karaoke contest gives guests the chance to root on their favorite troop! Girl Scouts can continue their journey by participating in an exclusive overnight, but space is limited to the first 600 campers! Overnight campers will also experience our "Camp Night Showcase" and be treated to breakfast the next morning before enjoying another full day of fun inside California's Great America. |

Bring history to life. This spectacular ...Bring history to life. This spectacular 3.5-hour trip includes a train ride, a hearty cowpoke barbeque lunch and a Wild West western show. During the trip, numerous western characters entertain the guests. Look out at Robber’s Roost where an elaborate old-fashion gunfight is staged. Then get off the train for a picnic-style western barbeque lunch by the Sacramento River. This is a great way to spend the day and have some fun. If poor weather conditions invade, we may remain on the train for lunch. There is some seating at the park, but we suggest you also bring a blanket in case you want to picnic on the shady grass. |

Red rock canyons, white water rafting and four sta...Red rock canyons, white water rafting and four states at one time. These are a just few of the adventures in 2012 - On The Road Again - Red Rock Roaming. After departing from Fairfield, our journey begins with a visit to Yosemite’s Toulumne Meadows and ends at the South Rim of the Grand Canyon. In between we will visit the site of a Japanese internment camp from World War II, hike along a river in a deep, red rock canyon in Zion National Park, see the strange red hoodoos at Bryce Canyon National Park, walk under some amazing arches in Arches National Park, crawl and climb among the cliff dwellings at Mesa Verde National Park, and gaze in wonder at the Grand Canyon. If this isn't enough, we will also be white water rafting in Colorado, touring Canyon de Chelly National Monument in a 6-wheel drive truck and visiting 4-Corners where we will be able to stand in 4 states at one time. And, as a special treat, we will eat PICKLE PIE. This and much more awaits you... On The Road Again. |
