The Girl Scouts of Northern California, Board of Directors, are looking to appoint two girl members to the Board for the 2012-2013 year!
This is an exciting and rewarding opportunity for Girls currently in 9th – 11th grade.
Following is a testimonial from Varsha Sathappan who has participated on the Board and her experience:
"Joining the board of directors has allowed me to realize how many
opportunities older girls have available to them in Girl Scouts. Before
this term, I did not know really how fun Girl Scouts could be in high
school. In addition I have learned a great deal about the financial and
administrative aspects of running an organization as large as the Girl
Scouts. The other board members have modeled hard work, humility, and
optimism for me, and I truly feel that this has been an invaluable
experience."
If you have an interest in learning how policy and strategic plans are formulated and have wondered what Boards of Directors really do, please apply now!!
Please review the Roles and Responsibilities. Complete the application and submit no later than Friday, January 20, 2012. Finalists will be interviewed.
