Gem of a Girl Scholarship - Sonoma, Lake and Mendocino Counties
Sponsoring Organization: Schmidt Family
Amount: $1000
Date Due: April 1, 2009
Description: The NEW Gem of a Girl Scholarship is a combination of two scholarships from the legacy Girl Scouts of Konocti Council: Gem of a Girl and the Merit Award Scholarship. The girl selected will receive a $1,000.00 check to be given to the educational institution of her choice.
Applicants must be seniors in high school (or equivalent) who are registered, active girl members of Girl Scouts residing in Sonoma, Lake or Mendocino Counties. Applications are due to the Santa Rosa office by April 1.
This scholarship has been and continues to be funded by the Schmidt Family. We are grateful for their continued support of our outstanding girls.
Violet Richardson Award
Sponsoring Organization: Soroptimist International of East Bay
Amount: $1000
Date Due: December 1, 2008
Description: The Award will go to a young woman, aged 14 through 17, engaged in volunteer action within her community or school. How to Get the Application: Contact Shawna Sanchez at ssanchez@girlscoutsnorcal.org for a scholarship application.
Girl Scout Achievement Award
Sponsoring Organization: American Auxiliary of California
Amount: $1000
Date Due: February 10, 2009
Description: The applicant must have earned the Girl Scout Gold Award and have at least Junior standing in High School. She must be actively involved in a religious institution and must have received the appropriate religious emblem at the Cadette or Senior level. She must have demonstrated practical citizenship in the religious institution, school, Girl Scouting, and community. General American Auxiliary Scholarship
Sponsoring Organization: American Auxiliary of California
Amount: $2,000 - One 2-year scholarship each year payable at $1,000 per year.
$1,000 - Four scholarships per year payable at $1,000 each
$500 - Three scholarships per year payable at $500 each
Date Due: March 16, 2009
Description: Seniors in High School who are children of parents who was/are in the Armed Forces of the United States during any of the following periods: April 6, 1917 to November 11, 1918; December 7, 1941 to December 31, 1946; June 25, 1950 to January 31, 1955; February 28, 1961 to May 7, 1975; August 24, 1982 to July 31, 1984; December 20, 1989 to January 31, 1990; August 2, 1990 to the date of cessation of hostilities as determined by the government of the United States.
