You Are Here : Home : FOR VOLUNTEERS : Volunteer Screening :
As part of the Adult Screening Process, volunteers may complete either fingerprinting or an electronic background check. This page describes how to complete this second step in the Volunteer Screening Process.
If you have not already done so, you must complete the online volunteer application:
Step 1: Please click here to start the Volunteer Screening Process with the volunteer application.
Step 2: Electronic Background Check (lasts for 3 years) OR Fingerprinting (lasts forever)
Step 3: Wait for approval e-mail before volunteering. (If you have not received notification within 10 business days, please contact our Screening Administrator at adultscreening@girlscoutsnorcal.org.)
Electronic Background Check
- Log on to the self pay portal https://gsnorcalbc.volunteerportal.net or the financial aid portal https://gsnorcalfinaid.volunteerportal.net
- Enter the password on the Welcome Page: screenme (for both portals)
- Enter Personal Information.
- All fields marked with a "*" (asterisk) are required.
- Click Next and review all information to ensure its accuracy before proceeding.
• If you Quit without clicking Save, the system will not save your information. Your background check will not be run. You will need to start over from the beginning when you return.
• If you click Save before you Quit, you will be provided with a reference code to enter when you return to the site to pick up where you left off.
When returning to the site, click on this link on the Welcome Page: "If you are returning to finish a previous search, then click here."
Enter your last name and reference number to resume your previous search.

Fingerprinting
Please be aware that we cannot accept previous fingerprint clearances from other agencies (in accordance with California law). You must be fingerprinted specifically for Girl Scouts. Click here to see other Frequently Asked Questions.

- Choose any Live Scan Agency and make an appointment
- Bring your Live Scan Application to your fingerprinting appointment
- Get fingerprinted and pay the fingerprinting fee ranging from $0 to $60 depending on the agency.
(GSNorCal does not provide reimbursement for these charges.)
