Core Leadership Series | ||
|
Girl Scouting 101 (English or Spanish) (45 min.) This course is offered online, and as a home study course. |
Take this course before meeting with girls. |
It is required for at least one adult in attendance at every troop or group meeting/outing to take all three Core Leadership courses: Girl Scouting 101, Getting Started, and Staying Safe. |

Welcome Session (30 min.) This course is only offered in-person. |
Your Welcome Session is a 30-minute meeting with a council representative (volunteer or staff member). |
Required for at least one adult from the troop or group (need not be in attendance at every meeting). |

Getting Started (2 hours) This course is offered in-person, online, and as a home study course. |
Take this course before meeting with girls, and after your “Welcome Session” with your CDD and GSUSA Girl Scouting 101. |
It is required for at least one adult in attendance at every troop or group meeting/outing to take all three Core Leadership courses: Girl Scouting 101, Getting Started, and Staying Safe. |

Staying Safe (45 min) This course is offered online, and as a home study course. |
Take this course before meeting with girls, and after your “Welcome Session” with your CDD, GSUSA Orientation, and Getting Started. |
It is required for at least one adult in attendance at every troop or group meeting/outing to take all three Core Leadership courses: Girl scouting 101, Getting Started, and Staying Safe. |

Leadership Essentials (2 hours) This course is offered in-person, online, and as a home study course. |
Take this course after your “Welcome Session” with your CDD, Girl Scouting 101, Getting Started, and Staying Safe. It is recommended that you take this course within 4 months of meeting with girls. |
It is highly recommended for at least one adult in attendance at every troop or group meeting/outing to take Leadership Essentials. |

Three Processes One Powerful Program This course is offered in-person, and as a home study course. |

Grade Level Courses | ||
|
Girl Scout Daisy Leadership (2 1/2 hours) This course is offered in-person, and as a home study course. |
Take a grade level course upon completion of the core leadership series, and as soon as possible after meeting with girls. |
This course is not required, but it is highly recommended for at least one adult in attendance at every Daisy troop meeting/outing |

Girl Scout Brownie Leadership (2 1/2 hours) This course is offered in-person, and as a home study course. |
Take a grade level course upon completion of the core leadership series, and as soon as possible after meeting with girls. |
This course is not required, but it is highly recommended for at least one adult in attendance at every Brownie troop meeting/outing |

Girl Scout Junior Leadership (2 1/2 hours) This course is offered in-person, and as a home study course. |
Take a grade level course upon completion of the core leadership series, and as soon as possible after meeting with girls. |
This course is not required, but it is highly recommended for at least one adult in attendance at every Junior troop meeting/outing |

Teen Advisor (3 hours) This course is only offered in-person. |
Take a grade level course upon completion of the core leadership series, and as soon as possible after meeting with girls. |
This course is not required, but it is highly recommended for at least one adult in attendance at every Cadette, Senior, or Ambassador troop meeting/outing. |
Beyond Meetings Series | ||
|
Extended Travel (2 1/2 hours) This course is only offered in-person. |
Take this course when planning trips of 3 nights or longer, national and international trips. |
This course is required for troops planning a trip of 3 nights or longer, national and international trips |

Troop Camping Certification (6 hours+) This course is only offered in-person. |
Take Troop Camping Certification before troop cooks OR sleeps outdoors (or in shelters without electricity OR indoor plumbing) |
Required of at least one adult who will attend the outing and who is involved in the planning process for the trip |

Troop Camping Certification PLUS (6 hours+) This course is only offered in-person. |
This course can be taken to satisfy Troop Camping Certification requirements (includes TCC for a girl attendee also). |
This course or Troop Camping Certification is required of at least one adult who will attend the outing and who is involved in the planning process for the trip |

Backpacking Course length varies This course is only offered in-person. |

Take this course before planning an event or camporee serving more than 50 girls. |

Fall Sale Training (1 Hour) This course is offered in-person, and online. |
Troop Fall Sale Managers must complete this course before participating in the Fall Product Sale. Print the certificate at the end of the course to show your Service Unit Fall Sale Manager. |
Required for at least one adult per troop participating in the Fall Product Sale. |

Cookie VIP Training (1 1/2 Hours) This course is offered in-person, and online. |
Troop Cookie Manager and Troop Leaders should take this course before participating in the cookie program. |
Required for at least one adult per troop before participating in the Cookie Sale. |
Health and Safety Series | ||
|
CPR & First Aid Level 1 (6 hours) This course is only offered in-person. |
Take this course before specified activities as outlined in the Safety Activity Checkpoints. |
Required of at least one adult in attendance for certain activities per Safety Activity Checkpoints |

First Aid Level 2 (4 hours+) This course is only offered in-person. |

Awards for Older Girls This course is only offered in-person. |
