Our volunteer courses and materials help you deliver a safe, fun, and successful Girl Scout experience. Our on-demand resources allow you to access the information you need, when you need it. Volunteer Learning Opportunities

We offer a wide range of quality and convenient adult learning opportunities to help you gain the skills and knowledge to deliver a life-changing Girl Scout leadership experience to the girls you work with. You will develop new skills and insights and may find these opportunities also enhance your personal and professional life.

In Person Courses:

Search our volunteer calendar for scheduled in-person adult learning courses. Choose from a variety of courses including Troop Leadership, Extended Travel, Backpacking, Troop Camping, First Aid/CPR, Wilderness First Aid as well as training for event managers and day/resident camp directors. Whether you are looking to lead your troop with more ease and variety, to learn how to plan and manage a successful event, or to sharpen your outdoor expertise and first aid skills, we offer a wide range of valuable and enjoyable learning opportunities!

Online Courses:

In addition to the in-person courses, we offer online courses which you can take 24/7.  Enjoy the flexibility and convenience of taking many required adult learning courses online. It’s a resource-saving, comfortable way to get started. We also offer many course prerequisites online to prepare you to better benefit from certain in-person courses and networking sessions. Browse our online course menu or go to your troop volunteer page to find the required training for your volunteer role. When you are ready to get started, you will be directed to our online training site. This is a brand new site with improved course tracking so you can keep track of the trainings you have completed. The first time you enter the site, you will be asked to create your own username and password.  By doing this, you will be giving us the ability to instantly record the classes that you’ve taken on your progression as a volunteer! Courses you have completed in the past should transfer to our new system when you log in with your email address. If your past courses do not show up, please email volunteerlearning@girlscoutsnorcal.org to tell us which courses you have completed.


Volunteer Learning Events

DISCOVEREE - is a one-day event held the first Saturday in February in Union City. Choose from over 100 exciting workshops and a delicious lunch. Learn more about DISCOVEREE.

Fall Festival - is a weekend event held the second weekend in October in Redding. Sleep overnight in the beautiful Whiskeytown National park. Choose from 28 workshops, eat great food, enjoy campfire, singing, and Girl Scout sisterhood! Learn more about Fall Festival.
